In honour of this solemn day on November 9, teachers and students of the Department of Germanic Philology (Olena Nazarenko and group PR-91/1, Anna Zinchenko, Antonina Prokopenko, Iryna Ushchapovska with group PR-12/2 and others) wrote a radiodictation of the national unity. The text was read by Yurii Andrukhovych (Ukrainian writer).

The All-Ukrainian dictation of unity is written annually. The date was chosen not randomly: on November 9, Ukraine celebrates an important national holiday, first established in 1997 – the Day of Ukrainian Writing and Language.

This year the dictation took place in the "red zone conditions". However, this did not prevent the manifestation of tender feelings for the native language. Somebody wrote dictation at the university in compliance with quarantine regulations while the others joined online.

“I am convinced that writing a radiodictation is a great opportunity not only to test knowledge of your native language, but also to feel yourself a part of unity and traditions of the own country, to gain new knowledge and experience. As for complexity of the text, it was not very difficult. However, I heard a few new words for me. Besides, the text was read rather quickly. Sometimes it was necessary to make passes and then to add words”, shared Yuliia Huzenko (PR-91/1 student) her impressions.

So, let the radiodictation unites us all, because "language is a window to people's hearts," as the EU Ambassador to Ukraine said.
