On 25 April 2024, the XI All-Ukrainian Scientific Conference of Students, Postgraduates and Teachers "Social and Humanitarian Aspects of Modern Society Development" was held at the IFSK Faculty. Reports were presented by SumDU students, undergraduates, postgraduates and teachers, as well as guests from other higher education institutions.

Foreign students from Africa also prepared reports. One of them was related to a comparative study of life values and ideals in Ukraine and Western Europe. It emphasized the traditions that play an important role in preserving the spiritual values of each nation.

Students of the Department of Psychology, Political Science and Socio-Cultural Technologies Iryna Kubyshko and Anastasiia Karpuk also made interesting presentations. Their research concerned issues of maladaptive dreaming in students and gender equality.

Students of other specialties also presented research results. For example, Victoria Vnuchkova, a Philology student, traced the etymology of foreign language phraseological units. Using examples of English-language texts, the speaker showed how phraseological units are primarily related to a particular nation. Given that the conference was also attended by foreign students, this issue expands a range of further linguistic studies in intercultural communication and provides a qualitative approach to analyzing the language of works by peoples of the world.

Reports of department teachers aroused scientific interest. In particular, Svitlana Baranova, an associate professor and head of the Department of Germanic Philology, in her report "Theoretical and Contrastive Grammar in Philology" emphasized variability of the English language not only in the lexical fund but also in the grammatical paradigm. Liudmyla Hnapovska, an associate professor of the Department of Foreign Languages and Linguodidactics, in her report "Proper Names: A Look at History and Today's Prospects" focused on proper names that reflect the cultural and spiritual values of the people. The presentations of other conference participants were also interesting.

We hope that for our speakers, participation in the conference is an opportunity to learn new things about topical issues of history, culture, philology, philosophy, psychology, social communications, political science, and security issues at regional and national levels.
