The Department of Germanic Philology always provides students with opportunities for professional development and studying abroad.
Our graduate Anna Melai visited us online and shared with lecturers associate professor Olesia Yehorova, associate professor Larysa Shchyhlo and students of the PR-81/1 group her impressions of studying in Konrad-Adenauer and Erasmus+ scholarship programmes.

Currently, Anna is completing her Master's degree in Germanic philology at the University of Bamberg and teaches at the same institution. German courses are also held based on the volunteer organization Freund statt Fremd under her guidance. And just recently, she went to Germany as a SumDU student to improve her language skills and get to know the culture; she went through the whole process, from writing cover letters and taking language tests to receive a scholarship and moving to study abroad.
Relying on her own experience, Anna explained the benefits of studying at foreign universities, provided a complete list of stages of obtaining a scholarship, such as passing a language test and preparing the necessary package of documents, shared helpful links to find all relevant information about exchange programs, and gave her own tips. The meeting was held interactively with the audience's involvement through the Mentimeter application and discussions of each of the presentation items.
Finally, Anna answered the students' questions, and there were many of them because the topic of opportunities for self-realization and development is always exciting and relevant. And Sumy State University is always here to help its students in finding these opportunities.
