A methodical seminar took place at the Department of Germanic Philology to improve the educational programme studying. Head of the Department, professor Iryna Kobyakova, programme "Practice of Translation from the Basic (English) Language"

Supervisors Lecturer Olena Nazarenko, Associate Professor Olha Zhulavska, Senior Lecturer Maryna Chernyk, Associate Professor Svitlana Baranova, and part-time assistant Larysa Hartsunova discussed the technical and methodological possibilities of updating and improving the teaching of this professional discipline the next academic year to bring training closer to the work of a translator in actual conditions and increase the interest of potential employers in our graduates.
The updated work programmes will pay more attention to the legal documents standardizing the translator's activities; students will master special professional automated translation programmes and additional programmes-editors to develop applicants' information and communication competencies; the lecturers will develop new methodological instructions and manuals for this discipline.
