On 22 November 2023, the Travel Office under the guidance of Olena Nazarenko, organized an engaging online event.

Iryne Kuts, a Philology graduate, is currently working as a quality control officer in a British company in Newport. She shared her work experience with interested guests and SumDU student. The event was attended by their curator Antonina Prokopenko and instructors Iryne Kobyakova and Olena Ovsianko.

Iryne shared insights into life in the United Kingdom, highlighting the allure of the country's breathtaking landscapes and noting the friendliness and warmth of its people. Despite her high level of language proficiency, she talked about the challenges of communication.

Interaction with native speakers is notably different from the English we used to encountering in books. But there is no need to be scared of it. Everything comes with experience. Irina shared information about employment opportunities in England and emphasized that language proficiency significantly increases your chances, but having a well-crafted CV is crucial. In interviews, English employers pay close attention to your answers, so it is critical to be well-prepared.

Iryne also encouraged students to participate in academic mobility because it is definitely worth it. New countries mean new opportunities and invaluable experience.

The Travel Office is looking forward to new meetings. We will be happy to see everyone who wants to explore the world with us!
