Anastasia Ostrokomorets and Kateryna Mushtai (students of the Department of Germanic Philology) successfully passed the selection among students of graduate translation specialties of Ukrainian universities and took part in a 90-hour internship from Women in Localiation Ukraine and ProZ.com. They completed the full cycle of translation and localization from English into Ukrainian under the guidance of experts.

For six weeks, a group of ten students led by Iryna Lebedyeva (the project tutor) has created a glossary, translated and edited English subtitles, monitored quality of the final digital content.

Anastasia Ostrokomorets says: "This autumn, I was lucky enough to participate in the localization practice. Only 10 students from all over the country could join the project and I was really surprised to see my name among them. Working on subtitle localization was something new and unfamiliar to me, and I had never worked with subtitles before. But thanks to our tutor Irina Lebedyeva, I managed to master this field of translation. I was really lucky with the team: the girls were friendly, cheerful and, most importantly, hardworking. I am glad that I decided to apply for participation in the internship. I am sure this experience will be useful in my professional activity".

Kateryna Mushtai shares her internship impressions: "I am very grateful for the internship experience. Thanks to it, we learned about tools and programs for translation and subtitling. Of particular interest to me was the stage of creating a glossary through the Sketch Engine program and its subsequent use for subtitle processing. During the internship, I had a chance to work with programs and gained new knowledge. Via interesting weekly meetings with the internship tutor, we successfully passed this course and acquired valuable practical skills for future professional activity".

After the internship, the students received certificates indicating the done work and internship results.

We are proud of our students' achievements and wish them further success!
