On the 30th of October, The School of European Languages reopened its doors to students who want to improve their communication skills in English and German. The club is guided by Olena Nazarenko and Antonina Chepeliuk (lecturers of the Department of Germanic Philology). Sumy and Sumy region pupils of 8-11 grades gladly joined this solemn event.
The first meeting of this academic year began with speeches of school heads. Olena Nazarenko congratulated students on the opening, told them about study peculiarities, wished them inspiration and success. Antonina Chepeliuk introduced 4th year philology students who will teach at the SEL (as a part of their practice). Antonina Dmytrivna told about achievements of students, their internships abroad and positive feedback they bring from around the world.
And then the most exciting part began – acquaintance with students, exchange of experiences, travel stories, stereotypes about people of certain countries, watching thematic videos and presentations. Our 4th-year students are eager to discover curiosities of foreign languages. This year, Yuliia Bohomol and Illia Nikonenko worked in Germany in summer. So, they told details of their trip, how they felt in another country and how important it was to know the language. Anna Zaremba and Yana Dubyna were responsible for the English language. They told nuances of using English in everyday life and intricacies of translation from English to Ukrainian.
Further classes will take place on Saturdays at 11 am and 1 pm. The next meeting is on the 6th of November.
