Alla Krasulia (lecturer of the Department of Germanic Philology) joined the online lecture "How to Write a Great Research Paper and Get It Published", which was conducted by professor of Drexel University (Philadelphia, USA), founder and director of the Drexel Institute of Nanomaterials, Doctor of Technical Sciences Yury Gogotsi, honorary professor of Sumy State University. The speaker shared his experience in writing articles and also explained the process of editing and reviewing them.

In February 2023, the final stage of the 13th International Taras Shevchenko Language and Literature Contest for Students and Youth took place in all regional centers and the city of Kyiv. It allowed the younger generation to turn to the poetic legacy of the Great Kobzar and demonstrate a high level of their creativity.

Taras Kremin (the Commissioner for Protection of the State Language) congratulated the contestants in a video address. He noted the importance of linguistic and literary competitions in the development and functioning of the state language. Thanked the participants and their mentors for their Ukrainian respect. Urged them to defend Ukraine with their knowledge.

On 1-3 March 2023, the second workshop (dedicated to the higher education sustainable development) took place in Kaunas, Lithuania. It is regarded as a part of the Baltic University Program.

17 representatives from Ukraine, Poland, Estonia, Finland, Slovakia, Sweden and Lithuania participated in the event. It was held at the Kaunas University of Technology. The Ukrainian team was presented by Sumy State University and Lviv Polytechnic National University.

The University of Liverpool Summer School invites students, postgraduates and lecturers to their courses: "Fake news, Fake Science and Critical Thinking. What Should I Believe?" and "Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): Global Challenges, Local Action, Achieved Outcomes".

Last summer, students and lecturers of the Department of Germanic Philology had an extraordinary opportunity to join one of the school modules. The participants got a fantastic experience.

On 25 February 2023, Iryna Ushchapovska (senior lecturer at the Department of Germanic Philology) held the seminar "Brand Language and Communication in Terms of Sustainable Development: Challenges and Opportunities" for colleagues from Chirchik University, Uzbekistan. The event was conducted within the Jean Monet's module "Fostering EU Practices of Education for Sustainable Development through the Brand Language: Interdisciplinary Studies".

On 21 February 2023, another meeting of the "Travel Office" was held by Olena Nazarenko (teacher of the Department of Germanic Philology). Students of of the Philology specialty and the Vladyslava Kulish (curator of the 1st year) visited Poland virtually.

The meeting guest was Natalia Udovenko. By the fate will, she is now studying at University of Economics and Humanities in Warsaw (Poland) majoring in English Philology. Natalia talked about living and studying in Poland. The participants also received answers to exciting questions that arose during the meeting.

In the autumn semester 2022-2023, the training course "Sustainable Development: EU Practices" was presented for students of Sumy State University. The course was developed by the lecturers Oleksandra Kubatko and Iryna Ushchapovska within implementation of the Jean Monet module "Fostering EU Practices of Education for Sustainable Development through the Brand Language: Interdisciplinary Studies" (ESDbrandEU) of the EU Erasmus+ program (101085708 – ERASMUS-JMO-2022-HEI-TCH-RSCH). It is headed by Iryna Ushchapovska.

Vladyslava Bohdanovych (a former graduate of the Department of Germanic Philology) shares her Philology study impressions:

"Due to SumDU, the most important thing that I got is German and English knowledge at a high level. Over the past year, I had life experience in Poland, Switzerland, the USA and Germany. In none of these countries, I did not feel any language barrier at all. I must say frankly: it was difficult for me to study, there were many tasks. It took time to complete them, but I managed. Therefore, everything can be mastered.

On 13-16 February 2023, SumDU hosted the Second Stage of the All-Ukrainian Research Contest for Members of the Ukrainian Junior Science Academy.

This year, there were 247 works from young researchers. They demonstrated their results online.
