Traditionally on 30 August, first-year students get to know their faculty and their department.

At the organizational meeting, Olena Sushkova (the IFSK faculty dean) told the future translators about the work organization at the faculty in the new academic year. Introduced the lecturers present at the event. Acquainted the first-year students with the tutors of their groups.

We sincerely congratulate all teachers, students and parents on the Knowledge Day!

Let the 2023/2024 academic year be a new step of knowledge for everyone who has crossed the threshold of Sumy State University. Let it give everyone high and bright feelings, open wide horizons for young people, and bring pleasure to teachers from the fruits of their efforts in education and science!

The delegation visited Chernechchyna, Okhtyrka, Trostianets, Romny, Sumy.

My name is Diana Nestorenko and I am a graduate of the Department of Germanic Philology.

Applying for this specialty, I only had the goal of mastering basic English and German. But in the first year, the world of philology, translation and related disciplines (cultural studies, language history, etc.) unfolded for me. I understood that learning a language and mastering it were different concepts. Not everyone who knows a language has the ability (and the moral right!) to teach others. Accordingly, it immediately became clear - it would be difficult, but very interesting.

Dear graduates of the Philology speciality! We sincerely congratulate you on the successful completion of your studies and your Bachelor's diplomas!

You have learned something new, taken tests or exams, defended projects for four years. In a word, you have acquired professional competence. Today, your knowledge is needed more than ever: for every Ukrainian and for the whole Ukraine, so that we are heard, understood and supported in the world! We know that your experience and youthful enthusiasm will help to write a successful modern history of Ukraine in the way your teachers taught you.

On 30 June 2023, Khmelnytskyi National University held the final online conference of the Second Stage of the All-Ukrainian Contest for Student Research "Person – Society – War: Social, Political, Psychological and Cultural Aspects". Here, there were winners of the direction "Social and Political Studies". Supervised by Diana Movchan, Alina Savchuk (a student from the Department of Germanic Philology) was awarded the diploma for her work "Сaricature in Mass-Media Political Discourse".

On 16 and 22 June 2023, the Department of Germanic Philology held an attestation of Bachelor's degree graduates.

The qualification exam was held remotely on the MIX platform of Sumy State University. The head of the examination committee was Tetiana Anokhina (professor of the Department of English Translation Theory and Practice at Kyiv National Linguistic University, general director of KHIMMASHPROEKT LLC). The deputy head was Iryne Kobyakova (professor, head of the Department of Germanic Philology). The committee members were Olena Yemelianova (associate professor), Svitlana Baranova (associate professor) and Olha Hlushchenko (director of the SotikTur travel network).

At Sumy State University, several Jean Monet projects are implemented, between which synergistic links often arise. Thus, due to the close cooperation of Oleksandr Kubatko (Jean Monnet Chair "EU Economic Policy and Civil Society", 619878-EPP-1-2020-1-UA -EPPJMO-CHAIR) and Iryna Ushchapovska (the Jean Monet Module "Fostering EU practices of education for sustainable development through the brand language: interdisciplinary studies” of the EU Erasmus+ program, 101085708-ERASMUS-JMO-2022-HEI-TCH-RSCH), the study guide "European Union economic policy and civil society" has been prepared.

During the 2022-2023 spring semester, Oleksandra Kubatko delivered the training course "Sustainable development: EU policies implementation" for students at Sumy State University. The course was developed by the teachers Oleksandra Kubatko and Iryna Ushchapovska within the Jean Monet module "Fostering EU practices of education for sustainable development through the brand language: interdisciplinary studies" (ESDbrandEU). It is supported by the EU Erasmus+ program (101085708-ERASMUS-JMO-2022-HEI-TCH-RSCH) (headed by Iryna Ushchapovska).
