On April 15th Head of the Foreign Languages Department, Nataliia Tatsenko, and lecturers of the Department of Germanic Philology Olha Zhulavska and Anna Zinchenko had an incredible opportunity to listen to Zoltán Kövecses, a worldwide researcher in the field of cognitive linguistics.

His lecture "Emotion Concepts in Extended Conceptual Metaphor Theory" was devoted to the theory of conceptual metaphor in general and the conceptualization of emotion "anger" in particular. After Mr. Kövecses’s presentation, there was a lively discussion about the influence of cultures on the conceptualization of human emotions. According to Anna Zinchenko, the opportunity to attend a lecture by one of the most influential linguists of our time gave a sense of unity in the global scientific community and an inspiration to develop and evolve.
