In February 2023, the final stage of the 13th International Taras Shevchenko Language and Literature Contest for Students and Youth took place in all regional centers and the city of Kyiv. It allowed the younger generation to turn to the poetic legacy of the Great Kobzar and demonstrate a high level of their creativity.

Taras Kremin (the Commissioner for Protection of the State Language) congratulated the contestants in a video address. He noted the importance of linguistic and literary competitions in the development and functioning of the state language. Thanked the participants and their mentors for their Ukrainian respect. Urged them to defend Ukraine with their knowledge.

The heads of regional education authorities, postgraduate institutes, writers and public figures also warmly congratulated the participants with encouraging words. Wished them strength, confidence in their abilities and realization of creative ideas and victories.

The contestants performed creative tasks according to their age category. Kateryna Kolodiazhna (a third-year Philology student) was one of the winners.
