The XII All-Ukrainian Student Scientific and Practical Conference "Translation Innovations" was held at Sumy State University. The purpose is letting future translators and philologists share their translation experience and present own linguistic research.

Scientific theses were presented by bachelors, masters and PhD students of the Department of Germanic Philology. Besides, there were participants from other Ukrainian institutions. Theses were dedicated to various linguistic topics. Information was thorough and concise. Many interesting questions and relevant answers show the high professional level of speakers.

Oksana Brovkina (a senior department lecturer) opened the conference. She noted that such annual meetings would raise translation skills, linguistic competence and methodology experience.

Olena Sushkova (the faculty dean) made a welcome speech. She emphasized how important the contribution of young translators was to development of linguistic science.

Iryna Kobiakova (a professor, the department head) argued that SumDU translators were known both in Ukraine and abroad.

Larysa Shchyhlo (an associate professor, a PhD in Philology) noted that deepening professional competence required expanding outlook and research scholarship. That is the conference aim.

Over a hundred participants from Ukraine and foreign countries published their conference proceedings. We wish all participants further creative inspiration in the research field!
