On 6-9 October 2022, the BookForum International Festival was held again in Lviv. There was a live broadcast for the whole world thanks to the Hay Festival (Great Britain) support. Daryna Hudakova, a third year student of the Department of Germanic Philology, participated in it.

Within the forum, about twenty events were organized. There were over forty authors not only from Ukraine but also from different parts of the world. Definitely, the main topic was the Ukrainian war, so all events were focused on this issue. In addition, the program highlighted such key topics as women and war, money and culture, propaganda, war crimes and memory.

"It was the first time I took part in such a forum. I was amazed at how well everything was organized. This festival is important. I learned about it from the Instagram page of my favorite writer Neil Gaiman. He has been supporting Ukraine since the first days of the full-scale invasion. Therefore, it is not surprising that this author was a speaker of events I chose," – Daryna shared her impressions.

It is hard to overestimate the importance of this year's forum. It is an opportunity to explain to foreigners what and why is currently happening in our country. Also, significant and difficult topics are discussed. The organizers would like to show the Ukrainian audience how important domestic authors are for foreign readers. It is the unprecedented support of various countries, their willingness to help us in the struggle and a clear understanding of aggressor that is the most impressive here.
