Lecturers and students of the Department of Germanic Philology took part in the National Unity Radiodictation. Traditionally, it was held on the Ukrainian Literacy Day. This year, the holiday was celebrated for the first time on 27 October.

The fest organizer is the Ukrainian Radio. The authorship of  the dictation text "Roads of Ukraine" belongs to Kateryna Kalytko (a Ukrainian writer and laureate of the Shevchenko Prize). Theater and film actor Oleksiy Hnatkovsky read it.

"Language is our history, shield and genetic code. Without a language, there will be no people," emphasized the department lecturer Oksana Brovkina.

Students actively participated in the event. Someone wrote a dictation for the first time, someone participated in the campaign every year. For everyone, the Radiodictation was a holiday.

Having written, everyone could send their dictation to the Ukrainian Radio for verification.

"Radiodictation is not only a test of knowledge. It is an action to unite the Ukrainian people around their native language. Our language was repeatedly banned, its speakers were destroyed. However, Ukrainian has survived difficult times and today it is considered one of the most beautiful languages in the world. Now, we are waiting for a great victory. We know that our Ukrainian people and our language are invincible!", concluded the faculty dean Olena Sushkova.
