On 25 May 2023, the 64th Student Applied Science Conference was held in the Riga Technical University (RTU). Anzhelika Kalchenko and Yana Herzhan (students, the Department of Germanic Philology) were invited to the ceremonial awarding of diplomas. Talis Yukhna (RTU rector, professor) congratulated the event participants.

The day before, Anzhelika and Yana took part at the faculty conference. They presented an applied linguistics research "Ableism and Stigma: Impact on Society". They studied lexical impact on disabled discrimination.

Among the conference participants, there were also other students of the Department of Germanic Philology: Vitalii Kravchenko and Andrii Hrebeniuk. They came to Riga to study under the Erasmus+ Program.
