My name is Diana Nestorenko and I am a graduate of the Department of Germanic Philology.

Applying for this specialty, I only had the goal of mastering basic English and German. But in the first year, the world of philology, translation and related disciplines (cultural studies, language history, etc.) unfolded for me. I understood that learning a language and mastering it were different concepts. Not everyone who knows a language has the ability (and the moral right!) to teach others. Accordingly, it immediately became clear - it would be difficult, but very interesting.

That is how I plunged into the world of philology, and then translation, and later pedagogy. Spoiler: on average, during the first year, students learn English perfectly, and the rest of the courses work on translation techniques, the art of teaching languages and translating others. Besides, they study the language basics (grammar, syntax, etc.) for writing scientific papers.

Believe me, five and a half years of my studies passed very quickly!

I am currently working with the UK and Ireland markets. And thanks to my background in philology, my pronunciation is really close to native speakers, which is very nice. Train hard, fight easy!
