As part of the activities aimed at helping students and graduates to find their first job, the Department of Germanic Philology keeps organizing events with potential employers.

On 12 October 2023, second-year students and Olha Shumenko (the Secretary of the Expert Council of Employers, Associate Professor) held a round table discussion with employer Olha Hlushchenko. During the meeting, they discussed new approaches and forms of work. The students received information about open programmes for employment, internships and practice.

In a lively discussion, the participants found out about the specifics of work, remuneration, working hours, social security, professional growth, etc. The students were also informed about the requirements of modern employers for a potential employee: a desire to work and improve themselves, discipline, responsibility, sociability, teamwork, professionalism and learning ability.

As a result, the participants were able to gain experience in communicating with a potential employer and receive advice on how to behave at an interview, which will help graduates to solve their employment issues.  The employer is ready to develop and train specialists in dialogue who, upon graduation, will be adapted to the work process, teamwork with leadership skills and responsibility.
