On 8 May 2022, the results of the translation competition "Horizons of Literary Translation" were announced. According to them, Karyna Vedmydera (a philology student) took the first place in the poetry nomination "Shakespeare. Sonet XCI". The competition was held by the Faculty of Linguistics at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. The young translators had to translate literary texts and Shakespeare's Sonet XCI from English into Ukrainian. 

"Nowadays, it is very important to promote Ukrainian at the same level with other European languages. In my opinion, Ukrainian translation of works by outstanding novelists and poets can be a great contribution to such an important case. Although the competition was announced before the war, now the participation in it has taken on other tones and added more significance to my victory", - says Karyna
