The post-graduate student of the Department of Germanic Philology of SumDU Viktoriia Zakusylo took part in the hands-on training online course on digital storytelling "Far Away So Close". The project was implemented within the framework of the program "MEET UP! German-Ukrainian youth encounters" supported by the foundation "Remembrance, Responsibility and Future" (EVZ).
The main method which was used in the project is a digital story (storytelling). It is based on the assumption that everyone has something to tell and that all the stories matter. The digital story helps people to use simple digital tools to create short videos that reflect their own point of view on important topics. The main purpose of the project was to study the home concept and how the idea of this concept is changing in new realities.
"Reflection, memories, and thoughts on one of the important stages in my life which resulted in working on my own script and creating a short video.  The outcome exceeded all my expectations but it turned out to be too intimate and personal to dare to spread it on social networks. I am thankful to the organizers who invited me to take part, to the mentor who was there and always answered all the questions and helped with generating the idea.  Cool project, cool people, cool thoughts and ideas!" Victoria Zakusylo shares her impressions.
