During February-March lecturer of the Department of Germanic Philology Olena Nazarenko and fourth-year students Vitalina Zaiika, Oksana Klepalska, Kateryna Podvalna, Bohdan Bilous and Dmytro Sheludko worked closely with pupils of the city.

The lecturer and the students organized and conducted “Translator in present-day word” tour, dedicated to the week of the Faculty of Foreign Philology and Social Communications, demonstrating high school graduates from Sumy schools and gymnasia technical and educational opportunities provided by SSU for future translators. Visitors were able to take on the role of translators in language labs, listen and participate in the class on practice of translation in the lecture room, learn new idioms and peculiarities of American and British English.

Such creative and personal approach enables high school graduates to understand better what exactly means being a translator, what requirements translators face in the contemporary world, and what opportunities SSU offers to master this challenging profession.
