On November 17 the Department of Germanic Philology held an extended meeting with the stakeholders of the educational and scientific PhD program of specialty 035 Philology : employers, graduates of the Department of Germanic Philology, representatives of the academic community were invited to join the meeting.

Master students of the Department of Germanic philology  (including Polina Kashenko, Yelyzaveta Savchenko, Iryna Zabolotna) and associate professor of the department, PhD in Philology Olha Shumenko attended the educational webinar provided by Oleksandr Bondarenko – co-founder of the Vox Translatorum

It`s the fifth time the School of European Languages under the guidance of lecturer of the department of Germanic philology Olena Nazarenko and senior lecturer Antonina Chepeliuk, has been looking for people willing for self-improvement and learning foreign languages. This academic year the first meeting took place on November 14.

On November 9, students and lecturers of the Department of Germanic Philology were actively involved in writing   All-Ukrainian radio dictation of national unity. For students majoring Translation, writing a dictation is not just an expression of respect for their mother tongue and country! It is recognition of the status of the Ukrainian language, its beauty and richness, which comes to future connoisseurs of foreign philology through diligent study of English. This year's participation of the department in dictation writing clearly demonstrated the deep understanding of the idea of ​​the national language and the importance of language proficiency for a professional translator.

On November 1, the director of the Center for Ukrainian-Polish Cooperation, seniour lecturer at the Department of Germanic Philology , Iryna Vasylivna took part in the commemoration of the fallen Polish soldiers buried in the central Sumy cemetary.


The second and fourth year #SumDU_translators of the groups PR-91 and PR-71 along with the lecturers of the Department of Germanic Philology Olena Nazarenko and the Associate Professor Olena Yemelianova joined the first online webinar within the framework of the project of the exchange of experience in digitalization and informatization of education development "The Unicheck educational community. Kharkiv", which was held on October 28th.   

Department of Germanic philology of Sumy State University and the Faculty of foreign languages of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University have been fruitfully cooperating in the field of science for a long time.
