Alla Krasulia took part in the workshop "Using Generative Artificial Intelligence in Everyday Life". It was organized on the international educational platform "Ukraine Global Faculty".
This workshop became a platform for discussing the basics of artificial intelligence, its potential and practical application in various spheres of everyday life. Participants had a unique opportunity to learn about the latest AI advances, including the usage of technology to create texts, voice content, music, images and video.

Lecturers of the Department of Germanic Philology took part in the webinar "The SumDU Repository as a Tool for Reflecting University Achievements". It took place on 13 February 2024. The discussed issues: filling rules of the SumDU Repository, copyright, self-archiving, publication placement algorithms, typical errors when depositing materials.

During September-December 2023, Oleksandra Kubatko (DSc in Economics, associate professor, senior lecturer of the Department of Economics, Entrepreneurship and Business Administration of Sumy State University) held a course of lectures and practical meetings on discipline "European Economic Security Policy" with third-year students of the Economics and Business specialty.

Alla Krasulia and Olena Yemelianova took part online in the training course "Global Synergy through Collaborative Online International Learning". It was held as a winter school for 29 January to 2 February 2024.

At the end of January 2024, the third stage of the All-Ukrainian Student Contest in English was held in a remote format.
Iryna Udovychenko addressed the participants with motivational words. She emphasized personal responsibility, academic integrity and compliance with the terms and conditions of intellectual competitions.
The participants were greeted by Inna Humeniuk. Oksana Serdiuk focused the participants' attention on the organizational and technical features of the English contest.

Every year we start by setting goals, and students of the European Language School are not an exception. On 27 January 2024, the European Language School under Olena Nazarenko and Antonina Chepeliuk resumed its work after a short vacation.
Oleksandra Derkach and Anastasia Horokh (the 4th year Philology students) prepared a lesson "How to Start 2024 Successfully". The aim is students can set their goals for this year in English and successfully achieve them.

On 24-26 January 2024, lecturers of the Department of Germanic Philology participated in the professional development program «SumDU MIX: A single educational platform for organizing the educational process».
Within the program, course design and structure, education monitoring, test generation, virtual classes, access to materials on the SumDU MIX platform were considered.

On 17 January 2024, the future translators, together with other faculty students, visited the Sumy Animal Protection Society and assisted in walking dogs from the shelter. The event was organised by Anna Zinchenko.
The students had a great time. Each member of the initiative group could choose a dog according to their temperament: calm or active.

On 18 January 2024, a meeting of the Faculty of Foreign Philology and Social Communications took place. The purpose was analyzing activity indicators during the past year and outlining work priorities for the current year.
Representatives of the rector office, students, lecturers and heads of the general university services joined the discussion.

On 11-13 January 2024, the V International Scientific and Practical Conference «Modern Research in Science and Education» took place in Chicago. Anastasiia Liebiedieva (a Philology student) and Olha Shumenko (an associate professor) became its participants.
The conference gathered around 60 experts from Italy, China, Germany and Ukraine. It served as a meeting point for esteemed and young scholars to exchange ideas and acquaint oneself with research results in Germanic and Romance philology. Such discussions are essential for understanding the contemporary trends in science and education. Students and lecturers from the SumDU Department of Germanic Philology actively contribute to these discussions.
