Youthful Europe

Olesia Yehorova, assistant professor at the Department of Theory and Practice of Translation, has recently obtained granting for visiting training course “Youthful Europe” organized by SALTO Eastern Europe and Caucaus Resource Centre. The project was realized in Kiev and financed by the Erasmus+ Programme in the field of youth. It gathered the representatives of educational sector and NGOs from different European countries. During the 5-days event the participants from Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Poland, Italy, Greece and Germany were benefiting from the opportunity to critically reflect on approaches towards Europe through values, identity, senses of belonging and participation.

Translator-students develop cross-cultural communication

 On April, 23rd-24th IX International scientific-practical conference “International Communication: language – culture – personality” took place in National University “Ostroh Academy”. 4th year students of SSU of Translation specialty Alina Filonenko and Elina Shcherbak participated in this conference.

“Ostroh Academy” welcomed the conference participants sincerely. The conference started with plenary meeting, where a lot of scientific articles were represented. Then the guest had an excursion around the Academy which roots go back to the educational establishment founded by the prince Vasyl-Kostyantyn Ostrozkyi in 1576.

Translation specialty student is a participant of annual Students Translation Competition

The 5th year student of Translation specialty Nataliia Pyshchyk took part in poems translation competition of Vladimir Dal's Eastern Ukrainian National University ''Poetical world in the World culture". The competition was organized by the Department of Translation of German and Romance Languages. Nataliia translated a poem from English into Ukrainian language. The jury gave their marks paying attention to several criteria, so the competition was difficult and highly professional. However, Natalia's translation was honored as a work of high artistic level and she got a diploma of participant.
