On May 5, on the initiative of the Center for Ukrainian-Polish Cooperation “Sloboda” a lecturer of the Department of Germanic Philology, candidate of technical sciences, associate professor Oleksandr Kobyakov and a fourth-year student Yuliia Lazutkina attended a special event. The Society of Polish Culture in Sumy celebrated the Constitution Day (May 3) and the Day of Polonia and Poles Abroad (May 2) with the participation of the Polish Consul Jan Zdanovsky and his family.

Oleksandr Mykolaiovych recited an extract from the Polish poem "Pan Tadeusz" by Adam Mickiewicz. The guests could enjoy various quizzes on the history, culture and geography of Poland, a festive concert, memorable gifts, as well as warm atmosphere and communication, that made excellent impression.

On April, 22 students of group PR-63 of Department of Germanic Philology visited the court of Zarichnyi district in frames of studying the discipline "Juridicial Terminology" (the lecturer is asossiate professor of the Department, candidate of Philological Sciences Olha Shumenko). 

Future interpreters went through lobby and halls, in which defendants usually stay before court sittings, saw conditions under which they wait for their sentences and how exactly they get into chamber of "waiting" for hearing of own case.

The lecturer of Department of Germanic Philology Iryna Ushchapovska took part in one-day seminar on academic integrity issues.

 The seminar took place at The Education and Research Institute for Business Technologies "UAB" on April, 22 and was devoted to ethical points of investigation especially in the area of education, science and academic research, development and innovation, artistic and other creative activity. The seminar was held by Czech expert, doctor Hynek Roubik, Ph.D. Project expert, Czech University of Life Sciences, Prague.

In the period 15–20, April SSU Congress-Center welcomed the germanists from Sumy and other regions of Ukraine coming to exchange their experience and best practices. The event was held in the form of an expert seminar funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). Carsten Grunwaldt, DAAD-Lecturer in Sumy, was both the organizer and moderator of the course. Olesia Yehorova, assistant professor at the Department of Germanic Philology, and Viktoria Zakusylo, teacher trainee at the Foreign Languages Department of ERI BT "UABS", attended the event as the representatives of Sumy State University.
