Contribution of the Department of Germanic Philology Lecturers into Eurovision
2nd and 3rd year students of specialization Translation guided by the lecturer of the department of Germanic Philology Nataliia Prykhodko worked as volunteers-translators at the department of Service 102 of Sumy Police Department of National Police Chief Office in Sumy Region. The administration of Chief Office thanked volunteers and awarded them with a special diploma.
Lecturer of the department of Germanic Philology Iryna Ushchapovska was lucky to work in a volunteer-team while Eurovision 2017 in Kyiv.
Iryna was among 12000 of applicants not only from Ukraine, but also from all over the world to work at Eurovision. Europe, Australia, the USA, the United Arab Emirates and the Republic Korea – citizens of 17 countries wanted to participate in the song competition.
Volunteers worked with singers, mass media, foreign delegations and guests of the song competition. Iryna Ushchapovska was a hostess of Slovenia.
Also Iryna was a translator for Slovenia representative Omar Naber at live program on Kyiv channel and while shooting on Kyiv channel and ICTV channel.
Volunteer work at Eurovision is communication with representatives of different countries, a lot of positive emotions and unforgettable impressions as well as unsurpassed experience. After the event everybody has got a certificate of volunteer from Eurovision administration.
