The Department of Germanic Philology was glad to welcome on April 11^th the best students of Ukraine, who, in framework of participation in All-Ukrainian tour of young journalists, visited Sumy and SSU.

The applicants from Kamyanets-Podilsky, Mariupol, Sumy, Kyiv, Kharkiv and many other cities of Ukraine came to compete for the title of the best young journalist and choose a proper place to get higher education. Thus, a visit to Sumy State University and in particular to the Department of Germanic Philology caused many positive emotions. Students of high school were positively impressed with the offered opportunities and prospects for SSU students.

The lecturer of the department of the GF, Olena Nazarenko, together with the 3rd year students of specialization Translation, demonstrated to the guests technical and educational opportunities offered to students who study languages at SSU. Visitors were able to try themselves as translators in language laboratories, learn new English idioms and slogans of companies, figure out the peculiarities of British and American English, etc. In the end of the event there was conducted a lingua-local quiz.

The guests showed themselves as real experts, they actively answered the questions and solved all tasks, at the same time learning new words and expressions with pleasure.

Many positive emotions and sincere words of gratitude from the invited students indicate their intentions to return the following year to the Department of Germanic Philology of SSU as its students.  We are looking forward to see you!
